How We Verify
Every number on this site traces back to an official Chinese-language source, read in the original by people living in China. When the official text is ambiguous, we say so. When it changes, the change history stays.
PRINCIPLES · 三条铁律
Three Rules

1. Primary sources, in the original Chinese
We read the NIA announcement itself — not a translated retelling of it. Every data page quotes the original text alongside our own English translation, with a direct link so you can check it yourself.

2. Ambiguity is flagged, never smoothed over
Where official wording leaves room for interpretation (and it does), the page carries an amber note stating what is unclear, our reading, and what we recommend you do about it. A data page without an ambiguity section is a data page that isn't trying hard enough.

3. Change history is permanent
When a policy changes, we update the data and log the change — old values are archived, never silently rewritten. You can see what was true last month, and when it stopped being true.

Checked against the primary official document within the page's re-verification cycle (7 days for visa policy, 14–30 days for practical guides).
Verified via official retelling
The primary document isn't public (e.g. platform help pages); we verified against the platform's own official channel, dated.

Publicly reported but not yet checked against the primary source. Treated as provisional — never presented as confirmed.

When We Get It Wrong
Errors are corrected publicly within 48 hours of confirmation, and the correction itself is logged in the page's change history — including who pointed it out.
